Class IV B attending the high school ‘Liceo Scientifico Gandhi’ in Narni Scalo    will represent
Italy at the Olympics 2020    .

Finished a sheet painted by students of two Italian and Japanese upper classes, working on
it for a year!

This is  an Italian news paper

The work was sent to Japan on February 14    th  .
At the closing cerimony held on Thursday, February13    th  2020, there were:
- Prof. Annamaria Amici, the Headmistress
- the students attending the IV B , ‘Liceo Scientifico Gandhi’,
- Prof. Mario Siragusa, the responsible of the project,
- Prof. Tessa Agostini,  the project curator,
- Mr. Lorenzo Lucarelli, the Councillor for culture of the city of Narni,

- some teachers and students of the school.

- Mr. Giuseppe Fortunati, the project promoter

The invited speakers have mentioned the different phases that have led to the creation and realization
of the sheet and have put in evidence the     cultural and     artistic importance    of this project as far as
promoting an     intercultural mentality    , an  artistic sensitivity     and an  incoming tourism.

Enclosed in the parcel, together with the sheet, it will be put some brochures and leaflets about:

 the Marmore Falls,
 the Augustus Bridge,
 the River Nera Valley and other natural, artistic and cultural beauties,
 some proposals about hiking, horse riding and cycling.

The project “    Artmile mural Japan    ” has started from the suggestion of Eng. Giuseppe Fortunati,

our  iEARN  National contact since 2002, who has supported the Narnian students and those from Otsu- city during the phases of planning, exchanging ideas and working upon the‘    mural ’ which will be
exhibited together with those coming from other Olympic competitor countries    in some Japanese
schools,  in  some different cultural centres of the whole Japan and in the stadiums and places where
the next  Olympic games,     Tokio 2020,     will be held.

Particularly important are the educational, linguistic and interdisciplinary aspects of the project
which has involved the students to put into play the best of their competences in English, in new
technologies, of their skills from Forum to WhatsApp via the Internet and their knowledge as far as  History, Geography and cultures and traditions of the two partner countries. Moreover it has been useful to promote  our excellence     to  the world and to know other cultures    and exchange with them
ideas and projects.

These are the ingredients that have led to the final result:     Comparison,
integration and cooperation between two different countries and cultures  through the use  of art
and new technologies upon themes as those of the sustainable development.

The name of the Students are:

Antonini Edoardo, Aziri Ramize, Beccaccioli Lorenzo, Bocci Erika, Bordacchini Nicole, Calugaru Alessia Elena, Carlini Chiara, Di Paolantonio Camilla,  Di Paolantonio Carlotta, Francioli Gabriele, Giuliani Jacopo, Lamanna Martina, Lunetta Clelia, Luongo Ludovica, Madolini Michela, Meossi Fabio, Nani Veronica Celeste, Nevi Chiara, Pacciaroni Giulio, Renzi Rachele, Ricci Elisa, Rossini Veronica, Secondi Alessia, Servi Filippo, Sparamonti Arianna, Stentella Sara, Xeka Melisa.

Obviously the pictorical realization of the sheet  has been the main skill the guys of the IVB have
been engaged in. It     should not be underestimated     how hard has been to link up harmonically so
different worlds through colours and frames    !  The chosen theme has put in contact the new
technologies and the cell phones to the traditional books in respect of traditions,    habits and customs
as well as  progress and tomorrow. In painting the Mural the students have moved from the Ferrari
car to Dante Alighieri, from music to natural and archeological beauties (the Bridge of Augustus and
the Marmore Falls).
This will certainly be the true beginning of a new adventure which will see the ‘sheet’ as the result of
an intelligent cooperating work made by Italian and Japanese students and as the first step in the
development of long-term cooperation.
